Christmas Baklava Recipe:

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Thaw the phyllo dough according to the package instructions.
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped nuts, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and salt.
- Layer the phyllo dough in a large baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Sprinkle a quarter of the nut mixture over the phyllo dough.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all of the ingredients have been used, ending with a layer of phyllo dough on top.
- Brush the top layer of phyllo dough with the beaten egg.
- Cut the Baklava into diamond-shaped pieces.
- Bake the Baklava for 45-50 minutes, or until the top layer is golden brown.
- Remove the Baklava from the oven and let it cool completely.
- If desired, drizzle the Baklava with rose water and honey.
Tips and Variations
- To make Christmas Baklava more festive, you can add a few drops of red or green food coloring to the nut mixture.
- You can also add other spices, such as ground ginger or ground nutmeg, to the nut mixture for extra flavor.
- If you don’t have rose water or honey, you can omit them or substitute with other flavorings, such as vanilla extract or lemon juice.
