Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded turkey, prepared stuffing, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried sage, salt, and pepper. If the mixture feels too wet, add breadcrumbs a little at a time until it holds together when shaped.
Step 3: Shape the Balls
Using your hands or a small scoop, shape the mixture into golf ball-sized rounds. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
Step 4: Bake
Lightly spray or brush the tops of the stuffing balls with olive oil to help them crisp up. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
Step 5: Serve
Let the turkey stuffing balls cool slightly before serving. Pair them with a side of warm gravy or cranberry sauce for dipping.
Tips for Success
- Use Moist Stuffing: If your stuffing is dry, add a splash of chicken or turkey broth to moisten it before mixing.
- Don’t Overmix: Mix just until the ingredients come together to avoid making the balls too dense.
- Freeze for Later: These can be made ahead of time and frozen. To reheat, simply pop them into a 350°F oven until warmed through.
Variations
- Cheesy Twist: Add shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese to the mixture for an extra gooey bite.
- Herb-Infused: Experiment with different herbs like parsley, rosemary, or thyme for a personalized flavor.
- Spicy Kick: Toss in a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes for a hint of heat.
